This project was a lot of fun. There was a large loft hallway on the second floor overlooking a cathedral living room. The homeowner wanted the hallway converted into a new bedroom for their soon to be born son. After the initial walk through, Dagen Structures came in, pulled back the carpet, framed out the wall and a new closet to match the rest of the bedrooms. Electric was then installed in the new wall and a ceiling fan was added by Mark Goodman Electric. After the electric was complete, drywall was installed and finished. Baseboard was added and the carpet was re-stretched to fit around the new walls. Finally, it was painted with two colors chosen by the homeowner with Benjamin Moore BEN paint on the walls and Regal Semi-gloss on all of the woodwork. We are really pleased with the final product.

To avoid having the paint the entire hallway and cathedral ceiling – which would have added unnecessary cost to the project, green Frog Tape was added to the ceiling where the drywall was to be finished. The drywall was then hung against the tape and the tape was cut off after it was sanded. A small line of caulk was then run into the corner to tie up the look.
